The 35th annual Oregon Asian Celebration in the Year of the Rat will include traditional entertainment performances and live music from fan dancing to taiko drumming. Explore heritage exhibits, hands-on youth activities, martial arts demonstrations, fine arts and crafts and other cultural touchstones from every corner of the world's largest continent. Dozens of cultures are represented at the festival including Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, Central Asian cultures and many more! "Celebrating 35 Years" is the theme of this year's Oregon Asian Celebration.
This widely popular cultural event features two full days of diverse Asian and Asian-American cultural immersion. Highlights include the Asian marketplace of more than 80 vendors and an Asian Food Court featuring mouthwatering Asian dishes. The event is produced by the Eugene/Springfield Asian Council, whose mission is to create opportunities that foster greater understanding of Asian and Asian American cultures by presenting special events and activities that promote friendship and harmonious relationships. All net profits from the event go toward annual college scholarships and community grants administered by the nonprofit Asian American Foundation of Oregon.
